Each semester, sisters band together to participate in Rutgers' Scarlet Day of Service (SDOS) to give back to the surrounding community. In the most recent in-person SDOS, a group of sisters traveled to the Middlesex Conservation Corps to remove invasive species from the area.
Organizations We Support!
As an organization on campus, Lambda Kappa Sigma takes great pride in the Rutgers community as well as communities beyond our defined scope. We believe in initiatives that bring people together for the benefit of others and do our best to support organizations whose missions encompass that.
Project HOPE
Project HOPE is our national philanthropy. HOPE’s Mission is to achieve sustainable advances in health care around the world by implementing health education programs and providing humanitarian assistance in areas of need. In the past, we have done Meal Swipes for Charity to support Project HOPE as well as hosted a charity showcase, Festival of Cultures, to fundraise.
Embrace Kids Foundation: Dance Marathon
Rutgers University Dance Marathon (RUDM) is the largest, student-run philanthropic event in New Jersey. RUDM’s mission is to provide emotional and financial support for children who are a part of Embrace Kids Foundation. RUDM participants dance to help raise funds and awareness that goes towards Embrace Kids Foundation’s mission to support the non-medical needs of children with cancer, sickle cell, and other serious disorders.
